Cedric is homosexual.
I am as sick as the French equivalent of a dog. Assuming the French have that expression. Anne-chan? Latest news from my sister is that Americans are narrow minded and intolerant of other cultures, which is a laugh considering the French mentality of self-preservation or the fear of becoming homogenized, Americanized, whatever the problem is. Ignorant we may be, but intolerant wouldn't be my word of choice.

My two Euro centimes, Harry Potter kicked fucking ass.

Here we go again! A brand new series! This time, we've got "Ouji-sama no Kanojo" by Miki Aihara. In other words, if the title and artist did not register with you, this is shoujo to the highest degree. I’ve more or less only got CLAMP-ites on the FL, so I don’t know, if you like this, pimp it out or something! [info]tricianna is lovely and was fabulous enough to scan this chapter, and you can find the link here, but if you steal the scans sans permission, we will both find you and punch you in the face. And we are like, really really buff. Likewise with my translations. Honestly, as far as I know, I'm not that much of a bitch, and I’m generally thrilled to death at the prospect of any scanlations or cross-posting my translations or recording audio files of people singing them to the tune of "Yankee Doodle" or pretty much anything. If you ask, chances are you will get a “yes please!” as an answer from me. Right.

I'm playing with my set up this time around (READ: CHAOS) so we’ll see how this works out. If it sucks or you have suggestions, feel free to dish 'em out. For the most part, I’m following my Tsubasa format, which means that:
-Lines marked with asterisks have notes that follow at the end of the translation.
-Flow of the text bubbles? A bubble connected to the previous bubble is separated by being on the next line. Entirely separate bubbles are a full spaced line apart.
-Comments that are written free-hand and not placed in a bubble at all make me want to punch people, but are denoted by parentheses.
-*sound effects*
-/thoughts/
-The language being spoken in this series varies, and occasionally, there are tagged markers to denote the change, which I've left in. But there are also times when the orientation of the written characters itself denotes the language the cast is speaking in. In these cases, ARABIC will be color coded GREEN, and ENGLISH will be BLUE. JAPANESE will remain BLACK.

I apologize a whole bunch for any Japanese mistakes I make. I’m far from perfect, but I try to be as accurate as can be. I apologize even more for any English mistakes I make. The better my French gets, the more my English suffers, so things like capitalization are no longer my strong suit. If you catch any mistakes, I’ll correct them quick as I can and be grateful forever. Feel free also to offer CORRECT Arabic romanizations and remember that "Ishak" pronounced "ees-hack", not with a "sh" sound!

This project will probably go up on Hyu and be the subject of more than a few format changes when it does.

Anyway! As always, enjoy! :)

~Love and the Royal Crown~

"I want to be 'a prince's bride'!!"

"...And I've been waiting for that dream of mine to come true..."

"...So all of a sudden, this boy shows up. But is he really (really really!?) a REAL PRINCE!?"

"Time to LOCK ON!!"

"My target? The prince!"

    02
Girl: /I remember back then. I remember watching it on TV./

/And wanting to look just like her, the prince's bride./

Newscaster: And the following news. It seems that a group of Arabian youths are being sent from the kingdom of Daram next week as part of a mission to establish friendship between our two nations.

Bottom of TV: "-ange Students From Kingdom of Dar-"

Newscaster: During their stay, they will be attending Shiritsu High School in Tokyo as exchange students in-...

Girl: All right now, everyone! Listen up!

    03
I'm sure plenty of you heard it on the news.

Tomorrow morning, we'll be getting new transfer students from the kingdom of Daram.
So we'll be holding an assembly to welcome them, first period tomorrow, in the gym. And we'll be starting at 8 o'clock.

-SECOND YEAR CLASS A-
-EXCHANGE STUDENT WELCOMING COMMITTEE MEMBER-
-Michiru Edajima-

Class: Whaaat!? That's even earlier than usual! No way!

What a pain in the ass!

No way am I getting up that early!

This totally blows!

Teacher: This is an academic event. Skipping is not an option.

And I'll deal with you personally if you're late!

Class: (Whaaat, nooo! C'mon!)

Girl (Michiru): Hey, come on now! Don't be like that!
Our exchange students are part of a royal family this year!!

Classmate: For real!? Like, Prince William royal!? From England!?

    04
Michiru: Err... Actually, they're Arabian...

Which is just -slightly- different from Prince William's family.

Girls: (*total letdown*)

Michiru: But they can speak English and everything!

Anyway, this means we're going to have to get the gym ready for the assembly.
So if anybody wants to give me a hand, I'd really--

Wha-
Hey! Hold it! Help me out! C'mon, guys!!

Class: (See ya!)

(Bye!)

Girls: Why'dja hafta get our hopes up like that, Edajima!

We've got new exchange students -every- year!

Edajima insists on holding out for a foreign hunk rather than a plain ol' Japanese cutie. Well good luck!

Michiru: Heeeey!

Geeze! These guys are royalty, y'know? Royalty! That's who celebrities consider celebrities!
And we're gonna get to meet them, talk to them!

(They just don't get it!)

Blonde Girl: Siiiigh! Is that why you're part of the welcoming committee?

Michiru: Yup! Plus, I'm not so bad with my English comprehension!

Blonde Girl: Well that sounds great, then. Good luck, Edajima!

    05
I'd help, but I've got a dentist's appointment. Sorry!

And I can't make any promises about being on time for the assembly tomorrow!

Michiru: Uughh, harsh, Rika-san. I thought we were supposed to be friends.

/Hmm./

/Looks like everyone else split./

/This is no good./

/Maybe I'm just setting myself up for a major letdown./

/But still!/

/It's my dream./

/And I know it's not very likely.../

/...But I'd at least like to see royalty in the flesh. Hear them talk./

/Who knows? Maybe one day, I'll even get to meet that boy I saw on TV! .....Yeah, right./

Boy: Get it together, Taniguchi!

    06
Jerk Boys: (Gahahaha!)

Your punishment today is to, once again, handle cleaning duty all on your own!

Pretty sweet, huh? We know how much you love cleaning, Taniguchi-kun!

Thanks! Have fun!

And when you're done with that, you can water the garden out front, too.

(Good luck!)

Michiru: Hold it! Quit bothering Taniguchi!

Jerk Boys: Don't worry about it! He spends all his time at work sweeping, anyway.

Plus, poor people are supposed to clean up after other people. Isn't that right, Taniguchi?

(Hahaha!)

    07
Michiru: Hey! Where do you think you guys are going!

Dork (Taniguchi): Just forget about it, Edajima-san.

Michiru: They're always doing this to you and you always let them!

You just shut up and let them get away with it! Well enough is enough!

This is way too much for one person to clean all by himself!

Taniguchi: It's really not so bad!

I like to clean, actually. I don't mind. Really.

You've got an assembly for the exchange students to worry about, though! Don't let me keep you waiting!

I'll be fine by myself.

(Hup!)

Michiru: ...It's only four. I've got time enough to help you out.

Geeze, those guys are just sooo~!

    08
Well don't just stand there staring off into space!

You've got yourself a job to get to, don't you?
Let's just get this thing over with.

Taniguchi: Oh!

R-Right!

So, um, these exchange students. Where are they... Err, where are they coming from?

Michiru: The Middle East. From Daram. They're really important, royalty, leaders.

Taniguchi: Hmm...

They're pretty famous, aren't they? Leaders of a country with so much oil. Most powerful nation in the federation, practically

Michiru: Wow! You sure know your stuff. Guess you're top of the class for a reason, huh?

Taniguchi: Oh, nah, I just read it in some book.

My mom's got all this stuff from back in college. She majored in Middle Eastern economics or something.
We've got a mountain of books on the Middle East at home.

    09
Michiru: I heard on the news that the king over there is like, richer than Bill Gates, or something like that.

Taniguchi: Whoa, that's amazing! I'm totally jealous.

If I had that much money, I'd buy myself a REAL mountain of books.

Michiru: ...Books? Geeze~!

Taniguchi: Huh? Why? Is that no good?

All I'd do all day is read, read, read. It'd be great!

Michiru: /Taniguchi./

/He's a stellar student, here with some special scholarship./

/We don't have too many like him around. And he works a part time job, too. It must be rough./

/But maybe if here were a little sharper, a little less shy, I'd feel less sorry for him./

Taniguchi: It'd be pretty amazing to be a king.

Kings and princes and all that, that's such unbelievably cool stuff.

Michiru: Yeah!? You think so too, Taniguchi?

Taniguchi: (Eep!)

Michiru: They're awesome, aren't they!?

I sooo wish I could have one for myself!

Just thinking about a prince, I mean, it makes my heart beat faster.

    10
Taniguchi: Th-that's... Uh, r-really...?

/Ahhh, scared me half to death!/

Michiru: EVERY girl wishes she could be with a prince!

To have a real prince propose to her some day!

To have huge wedding with loads of guests!

To live happily ever aft--...

Mystery Boy: *SNORT*

Michiru: Wh-What...! What's so funny!

Something wrong with my dream?

Taniguchi: N-No, nonono! No! It wasn't me! ...It...

Oh...!

Michiru: Huh!? Then who was it!

    11
Mystery Boy: I'm sorry.
It's just that what you said was so funny.*

Michiru: /Th... That's English./

    12
/...A-And that's a foreigner!/

/What's he doing out here?/

/Blond hair, blue eyes./

/Definitely a foreigner!/

Taniguchi: Edajima-san? Maybe he's one of the exchange students?

Michiru: N-No, can't be. They're Arabian.

And he definitely looks white to me...

/Huh? What's his deal?/

/Have I got something on my face?/

    13
/Err... English. Okay. What can I say to him in English?/

(In English) U-Umm... Do you have some sort of business here at our school?    BLUE
Uhh... I...

/Am I weird looking or something?/

/What is it!/

/Did I say that right!?/

Mysterious Boy: I...only...

Mysterious Boy #2: Ashraf!

Michiru: /Huh?/

Mysterious Boy #2: What the heck are you doing? You just disappeared all of a sudden! We've been looking for you!
The SP is here with us and everything, remember? You're going to upset some very important people!

Michiru: /Now what's going on......?/

Mysterious Boy (Ashraf): Sorry, Farid.

I just wanted to look around on my own for a bit. I was going to come right back.

    14
Mysterious Boy #2 (Farid): ...Hmm...?

Hi there! Nice to meet you? Do you go to school here? You're very pretty, you know.
My name is Farid. What's yours?

Michiru: /He's speaking in Japanese!/

Taniguchi: Uh... Umm... Your hand...

Michiru: Taniguchi...

Farid: Oh, sorry about that. You'll tell me your name though, won't you?

Michiru: Mi...Michiru. Michiru Edajima... Your Japanese is amazing.

Farid: Thanks.
That's what you get from being an exchange student so often! A knack for other languages.
Michiru, eh? That's a lovely name.

    15
Ashraf: We should get back, Farid.

Farid: We'll be starting school here tomorrow.
See you around, Michiru!

Michiru: /Those guys?/

/THOSE guys are the Arabian exchange students!?/

    16
Taniguchi: Did the committee know that they were already here?

Michiru: No... Not at all...

Taniguchi: I guess they did seem pretty royal, didn't they? He was so good at Japanese and everything.

Michiru: /That blond hair and those blue eyes./

Taniguchi: And the one who looked white, was he Arabian royalty too? He seemed sorta different, huh, Edajima-san?

Michiru: /He looked just like the boy from before./

/But he couldn't be...../

/And just now.../

/He was trying to say something to me./

/I wonder what it was./

Taniguchi: Guess they came today to scope things out ahead of time?

That sure was a surprise.

    17
Committee President: So at 8, we start showing people in. Then we conduct the assembly.
Afterwards, it looks like the exchange students will be heading home for the rest of the day.
Tomorrow will be their actual first day.

The committee will be helping them get settled tomorrow morning, too. I'm counting on you all!

Michiru: /Are those guys from yesterday really gonna be the ones who show up today, too?/

/Nah, no, couldn't be. Taniguchi sure was right about how neat it'd be to be royalty, though./

/Even if those guys looked more like foreign teen idols than royalty./

/Royalty. Totally awesome. Maybe it's not completely impossible.../

Committee Members: Hey, come look! Something's going on outside!

Everyone's at the gate!

    18
Michiru: Huh? Is that...

Committee President: Our exchange students are in THOSE!? Are you serious!?
They must be LOADED...

Girls: (Wowwww, too cool! Eee!)

Taniguchi: Morning, Edajima-san.

Did you see? Pretty amazing, huh?

Michiru: Taniguchi... Morning.

Girls: I see them! They're getting out!

Michiru: *gasp!*

    19
---

    20
Girls: Are you for real!?

Are we sure those aren't foreign movie stars or something?

Those three guys!

THEY'RE our exchange students this year!?

    21
Announcer: So, starting from the left, we have Farid-kun and Ashraf-kun, who are second year students.
And furthest to the right is Ishak-kun, who's in first year.
Their father is a king, even though there is indeed a Saudi president. And when he was younger, their father came to Japan as an exchange student, too.
This can be a difficult transition, and I hope you'll make them all feel at home here.

Girls: Err, are we allowed to be just sitting down like this in front of royalty?

Ashraf is totally dreamy.

I'd take all three!

Arabian guys are the coolest!

Michiru: /They're.../

/...Real princes./

Announcer: Treat them like ordinary Japanese students.
There's no need to go to any special trouble at all.

    22
Michiru: /A real.../

/...Prince./

Announcer: They'll be starting class tomorrow, so let's give them a warm welcome.

Michiru: /And it's true./

/He really looks like that boy from back then./

Taniguchi: /Real princes. And they're good looking guys, too.../

/They're exactly what Edajima-san's been waiting for, aren't they?/

    23
/Huh?/

/What the heck was that? Did he just look at me?
No way. It must've just been a coincidence./

/Edajima-san'll probably forget all about me with these guys around./

Ishak: (In Arabic) What's wrong, Nii-sama? You keep looking over there.

Is someone down there bothering you?

Ashraf: It's nothing.

    24
Farid: *grin*

Michiru: /Oh!/

/He remembered me from yesterday!/

/I wonder if the blond one remembers me too, then./

/I never really got a chance to speak to him./

Girls: Heeey, Edajima-san! What classes are they in?

Michiru: Oh, err, we don't know yet. We'll find out tomorrow.

Girls: I so hope their in our class! That'd be way cool!

Michiru: ......

/I'd really like to talk to him, too./

Farid: Michiru.

    25
Michiru: Farid-san!

Farid: Just "Farid" is fine.
Looks like everyone with an armband is here to help take care of us.

Pretty helpful... After all, I'd love to make some good friends. You know what I mean?

Hey, this evening, we're having a little get together at our house. Nothing too special, mind you.
But we're supposed to invite people from school, get acquainted.

Do you think you could come, too?

Michiru: Y-

You mean it?

/Everyone's looking at me!/

/This is amazing!/

/I'm talking to a real life prince!/

/Could I possibly be getting closer to my dream!?/

/I am! One step at a time!/

    26
Crowd: Wowww, Edajima's really getting along with that prince! He just invited her to a party!

That's too cool!

I wish I were on the committee too...

*bump!*

Boy: The hell? Watch where you're going!

Outta my way! Frickin' Taniguchi!

Taniguchi: Ah! S-Sorry...

Crowd: Move it, Taniguchi!

Taniguchi: S-Sorry! I'm sorry!

Michiru: Hey, could you hold on just a second?

What happened, Taniguchi?

You okay?

Taniguchi: S-Sorry... You finally got to talk to your prince, and I...

Michiru: Don't worry about that! Are you hurt?

Taniguchi: I'm fine. Just a little startled...

Ashraf: Farid.

    27
Asking just the girl to the party, huh? Ask Taniguchi too!
The both of you can come! Really, we'd love it. Please.

Farid: Ashraf.

Michiru: /The blond prince!/

Ashraf: *smile*

Michiru: /He just invited us!/

Taniguchi: Uhh... What did he say?

Michiru: He wants us to come to their party.

/What pretty English... I guess he can't speak Japanese...?/

Taniguchi: Oh, no way, no way! I couldn't!

I've got work!

Farid: ...If you insist, ani-ue.**
Whatever you say.

Michiru: C'mon, c'mon, c'monnnn! Let's go! We've been invited by real life PRINCES!!

Taniguchi: B-But... My job...

Ashraf: We'll be expecting you, then.
Let's go, Farid.

    28
Michiru: So you'll go with me then, right, Taniguchi!?

/That boy.../

/I want to get to talk to him more!/

Ishak: (In Arabic) Up to your same old tricks again, huh?
Always chasing after girls like that!

    29
Farid: What are you talking about! She's a classic Asian beauty! Of course I'm going after her! Who wouldn't?

Ishak: Nii-sama! You won't really let Farid have his way with that Japanese girl and her weird friend, will you?

Ashraf: ..............

We've got important business here.
I'd like to speak with them myself, in fact.

Michiru: /I've been invited to a party by a prince./

/This is just like a fairy tale!/

    30
/Like a dream!/

Committee President: This is the place!?

He considers this "nothing special"!?

Committee President: This place is bigger than any other joint in Roppongi Hills!***

Michiru: Don't worry about it! He said he was supposed to invite people from school!

There must be other kids or teachers around here somewhere.

(So get in there! Time to make new friends! And you're the head of the committee!)

Taniguchi: Waah, it's the prime minister!

And loads of politicians! I've seen a bunch of them before on TV!

(Waahhhh!)

On second thought, I'd really better be getting back! I shouldn't be missing work, after all!

Committee President: Seems everyone's here but our hosts, huh?

Not like I could see them even if they were. There are so many people here...

Ishak: Miss Edajima?

Michiru: Y-Yes!?

/It's one of the princes!! ...Err, let's see, he was the third one./

Ishak: Good evening.

    31
I'm Ishak al Nakthma. First year.
There sure are a lot of adults at this party, aren't there?

My brothers and I have our own separate room that we've been resting in.

Michiru: /It's pretty easy to understand him./

Ishak: They told me I should show you to it if I found you.

Michiru: /He speaks slowly, clearly.../

Ishak: Ashraf said
that he has some sort of business with you.

Michiru: /Ashraf!?/

!!

Sure I'll come with you!

Ishak: Great! This way, then.

Committee President: We'll see if we can't find some teachers or something.

Michiru: Sorry! Stick with Taniguchi!

    32
Taniguchi: /I feel a little uneasy about letting her go off on her own like that...
But this is her chance to talk to a real prince. I don't want to bother her, she'll get upset....../

Committee President: This place is pretty awesome, huh? And they sure seem to like Edajima, don't they? Not that I'm really surprised.
She's that sort of traditional beautiful Asian type. Foreigners always fall for that.

Michiru: /Maybe I can ask about yesterday./

/About what he was going to say to me./

Farid: Michiru!

    33
I've been waiting for you. I was hoping I'd get the chance to talk to you!

Michiru: /Huh?/

Oh, err, thank you...

/Huh?/

I... Ishak-kun?

Where's Ashraf? Err... English, how do I say it in English... Umm...

Errr.

Ishak: (In Arabic) Boy, you're in for it.
Looks like Farid's totally going to make you his.

Michiru: /Huh?/

/What was that? Arabic?/

/What did he say!?/

/And where's Ashraf...?/

Farid: C'mere, Michiru. Look at me.

    34
Michiru: /Huh?/

Farid: I feel like I've known you forever...

Michiru: U...Uhh, I...

I heard that Ashraf-san had some sort of business with me, so I came here to...

Farid: ...Right. Ashraf and his business.

Michiru: /Talk about making new friends.......!/

Farid: Ishak really went along with it, then.

Michiru: Huh!?

Farid: Ashraf's the oldest of us, so he's the one who chats with the politicians.
Important people flock to him when we have public parties like this. He's doing the mingling right now.

Why? Do you have a thing for him, Michiru?

Michiru: What!?

    35
Ahhh!

What do you think you're doing!?

Farid: Michiru!

What, don't you like me?

    36
Come back to my country with me.

I've decided on you.

You'll be the first Japanese girl in my harem!

Taniguchi: *siiiigh*

Ashraf: ...Yuuichi Taniguchi?

    37
I've been looking for you. Actually, I've got something I'd like to discuss with you. That's why I invited you here tonight.
Would you mind joining me in my room?

Taniguchi: B...But I thought that you couldn't...
speak Japanese...

What's going on here!? Where's Edajima-san!?

Ashraf: E...dajima?

Michiru: Are you crazy!?

    38
Harem!? Just how many girlfriends do you have, you pervert!?
And you just... That was my first.....

Farid: I just told you I wanted you to be my lover! Why are you so upset?

Michiru: One of HOW MANY, you jerk!? Live with all your other lovers!? No way!

Farid: Well then how about this! I'll give you this place in Roppongi Hills!
My dad bought this whole little area for us to live on!

Michiru: (WHAAAT?!)

The...The whole area!? The movie theater and the tower and everything...!?

Farid: Yup. All of it.

And I'll give you anything else you want.

You'll be famous.
Every girl in Japan will want to be you. Wouldn't you like that?

Michiru: N...No!

That's not...

/Famous? Rich?/

/That isn't what I wanted./

    39
What I want is...

...to be a prince's only girlfriend!

Ta...

Taniguchi!?

    40
Taniguchi: Oh...!
What are you doing to Edajima-san!?

Michiru: Ta-Taniguchi, don't! You can't!

Farid: Who do you think you are!?

Putting your hands on me like that!?

Ashraf: Stop it, Farid!

    41
Get your hands off of that girl.

Michiru: /Ashraf!/

    42
/He.../

/He saved me./

/He came to save me./

/To save -me-./

Ashra...-

Ashraf: Please excuse our younger brother's rudeness, ani-ue.

    43
Michiru: HUH?

Farid: What!? What are you talking about, Ashraf!?

Ashraf: This is our father's first son.

17 years ago, father came to Japan as an exchange student. And a Japanese woman fell in love with him and had his child... He's been looking for her ever since.

Michiru: /Hey! He's...speaking Japanese!/

/But.../

/What the heck are they talking about? This has got to be a joke... ...Huh...?/

Ashraf: This is of course very sensitive, secret business. My orders came from father himself.

Michiru: /...A joke.../

Ashraf: Coming here as exchange students was really just the most inconspicuous of pretexts for carrying them out.

Michiru: /It's not a joke.../

/This is for real./

    44
Farid: We've come to take you back with us.

Ani-ue.

      NOTES

*Must! Correct! Horrible English phrasing! Sorry!

**Ugh, all right. I think I've graduated from "unreasonably purist" to "measured decision maker", but it physically pains me to see certain expressions given a fake, awkward sort of translation. I'm leaving "ani-ue" and "nii-sama" as they are, because I would sooner die than see Ashraf say "Most dignified older brother!", or anything along those lines. People just don't generally call each other "sister" and "brother" in the English language. So, Ashraf and Ishak use these two expressions because they are royalty and proper and respectful, but both of them just mean "older brother" as I'm sure you're all completely aware of by now. On the other hand, though, I feel all right about making "chichi-ue" into "father".

What else? Alex! I'm working on those interviews, promise! :D I'd like to do SOMETHING for CnL... Want to scanlate the Kiseki mini-comics or something?

First chapters have a right to be sort of meh, in my book. So long as Farid's a man-whore, I don't really mind. XD

CEDRIC, I HARDLY KNEW THEE!

Man's best friend my ass! In France "je suis malade comme un chien" works too.

How ironic that the dog is one's best friend but really you don't want to be like him ^^

And yeah Cedric is oh so very gay. My little cousine asked me why exactly Cedric's head was on a boy's laps and WHY he was asking Potter to be naked for what looks like a first date. (even Voldermort seems like he regretted killing his pretty body)

Now I'm really crying Cedric's death. Pretty thingy shouldn't be killed

:D Ditto! And I'm getting through them a little at a time. They're always so dense, it's tough to just sit and finish them in one go. *sigh* I'll finish 'em sooner or later, though!

Hi!

I'm sorry to barge in on your live journal but a friend of mine was so nice to lend me out your link. I'm Kaila from DGT (lol pls ignore my LJ username. Kaila wasn't available as an account so I was desperate to find another word for it. Goddess is a bit too much ^^; but was only the one on my mind at the moment.) Anyhow... regressing regressing... going back to topic.

I was wondering if we could ask permission to use your scans and translation? We would love to make it into a scanlation. We would be placing proper the credits to you of course. ^^

Anyhow... I'm pretty much tongue tied right now. Really sorry if this doesn't make much sense.

You can contact me at dgtranz@gmail.com our webbie is www.dgt.glowie.com.

Thanks and again, I'm sorry for intruding.

ps. sending a duplicate to your email. I'm not entirely sure on how LJ comment thing works.

Hi!

I'd love to be invloved in the scanlation effort here. I'm so sorry for the delay in response; in all honesty, I was in Belgium. XD Needless to say, without the internet. I'd love to see this project go ahead if the offer still stands. Let me know! :D
